Memory Settings on P4B266-C

I currently have the following set up:

P4 1.6A @ 2.11 GHz (132 FSB)
Vcore = 1.575 volts
Asus P4b266-C
256 MB Crucial PC2100 DDR
Windows XP Pro

I am currently running the memory at the 1:1 setting. When I try to run the 3:4 setting, the computer locks up loading Windows. Is there another setting in the BIOS I need to change before I can run a 3:4?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your ram can't handle the extra speed.

Edit:

Try changing the jumpers to give your ram a little more voltage. Chapter 2, page 19 (2-19) in your manual.

You won't be able to run with the 3:4 setting at the FSB your running. At 132 FSB the 3:4 setting would run your memory at 176mhz! Most 2100 DDR ram maxes out at around 155-160. You can try oc'ing the FSB more (memory at 1:1 will increase in mhz along with the FSB) by setting the Turbo1 option. This should keep the AGP and PCI buses in spec while you try to overclock to a higher FSB.

Thanks for your help folks. I disabled USB (heard about this in a different forum) and raised the memory voltage up to 2.6 volts and it still won't load Windows. I must have gotten one of the few Crucial PC2100 RAM sticks that won't work at 3:4.

I'll think about buying some different RAM (Mushkin) next week.
