For some reason my Presario 715US memory's slot cover & the memory chip itself are very hot after I use the laptop for a while even while idling at 500MHz (max is 1.2GHz).

I honestly fear the built-in and the add-on 128MB might die pretty soon although the lap is stable. The temperature is at least 90-100 degrees F. But no problems so far. Just kinda bug me why the PC133 SDRAM runs so hot. It's the hottest area (even more than where the CPU is located).

Is this normal with all laptops?

From what i have seen and heard yes. Mostly for the fact that there isn't much area for cooling insided a laptop.

You dont need to worry at all

For example... here are my temps right now...

CPU 2400mhz@1200mhz: 43 C
RAM 48 C

The ram reaches late fifties C while gaming...
