I've been hearing different things regarding the type of memory that should be used with a Thunderbird chip. I'm considering the 1Ghz chip with an Asus A7V board. I've heard that for this combination, PC133 CAS2 from a large name (Corsair, Mushkin, etc) must be used. Is this really the case or can I go with CAS3 or a lower brand? I want to make sure I get the correct type of ram that won't give me any problems later. Thanks.

you can use whatever CAS you want but 2 is def recommend. I would also highly recommened getting a name brand. preferably micron, mushkin, corsair etc. but the lesser known's work fine. Do not get generic ram. Also make sure you get a lifetime replacement warranty.

a big name is definitely worth the hassle (rather than system problems later on), and cas 2 is a plus.

I have never bought anything other than generic stuff. Never had a problem. Got cheap stuff in my KT7 right now.
