Memory Recommendation

I am getting a new computer and want a recommendation, and no stupid ones. I am getting an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ on an ECS KA3 MVP Mobo. It will have 512 DDR2-800 of memory and I have a 7600 GS 512 MB video card to put in it. I know I need new memory but should I get a 1GB stick to add to the 512 that is there or would 2x512 MB be better. I will only be getting 1GB of new memory and want to know if it would be better to get a matched pair or if it would not matter that much. If it is only going to be a few FPS imporvment I think a 1 GB might be better so in the future I can get more of the same. Any suggestion but limited to either one 1GB stick or 2x512 MB sticks of matched memory. And any suggestions on brand with the monetary limit of about $150.

If you want to benefit from dual channel you are better off with the 2X512. If you aren't too worried about that I would go with a single 1GB stick for now and add an additional when you have the budget. What do you use your computer for the most?

Gaming. I will be reviewing things like video cards, memory, games and such. The memory i will be getitng soon will be for me to keep. many of the things i will be getting in the future will be on a loan basis.

Cost and the stuff on the board. I wanted the KA3 MVP because I wanted to have full PCI-E 16x capable mobo but keep the cost down. I ordered it from Cyberpower. The other mobo's that had full 16x pcie were a hundred more. Most of the other companies that assemble pc's want to give you everything with the pc. I only wanted a good Mobo, cpu and the rest I will be putting in after I get it.
