I've almost completed my new build.

Specs:
AMD 3500+
eVGA nVIDIA 7900GT
Seagate Serial ATA150 250gig
ECS nFORCE4-A939 mobo

...and here is the question: Looking at the instruction manual for the aformentioned mobo above, there is a Qualified Memory Vendor table (QVL) on one of the pages with various brands of RAM listed, such as Kingston, Corsair, Geil, Twinmos, Hynix, and various others. Would it be OK to deviate from this list and maybe get a couple of sticks of OCZ and risk the mobo not being compatible with OCZ or something else, given the kind of mobo I have here, or should I stay true to this list and perhaps get some Kingston or Corsair? Any suggestions, advice, comments would be most appreciated. Thanks guys.

I have never gone by the QVL when building from scratch.

.....so if it's not compatible, I can always blame myself.

Welcome to the forums.

The QVL doesn't necessarily give you an all inclusive list. Only a list of what the vendor actually tested. I've had better luck combing the forums for current users & seeing what they have run with and without problems.

My current favoite memory brand is G.SKILL for price/performance ratio, and they've proven to have good support, with emphasis on doing right by the customer. At least that's been my experience.
