I am putting together a new computer for my friend but i have a question. He is getting the MSI kt3 Ultra motherboard (athlon xp), which has 3 memory slots. He bought 1 stick of 256mb of pc2700. I am assuming that will work, he didn't have to buy two 128mb sticks. My real question is this: one memory stick, two empty slot. What do i have to do with the empty slots? I seem to remember when i bought my P4 motherboard the guy at the store put in two 128mb sticks and a 'blank' or 'terminator' stick. I have no idea if the via 333 chipset requires this or what.

So, do i just put in the 256mb stick (with nothing in the other two empty slots) and it works fine?
Do i need a spacer stick and can i go down to CompUSA to buy it? How much will it cost by itself? I would guess that if you are buying the memory they will give it to you free, but without memory I don't know.
Will they come with the motherboard? that would be nice.
or perhaps some will come with the memory...
or is one stick of memory not going to work and i am screwed?

You just pop in the one memory stick and leave the other two empty. RDRAM is what requires the spacers.
