when it comes up to memory im pretty much of a noob i think.
Anyways i have a gig of kingston value ram(ddr400/pc3200). It has a latency of 3 is what i know. I hear people in review saying all the time that in the bios thye changed that same memory into 2.5 latency. can i do that also? but wont it overheat my memory? it doesnt have a heatspreader so there no danger then?
i went into my bios and this is what a found. plz feel fre to give me advice and how i can boost permonce.
CAS# Latency 3
RAS# Precharge 3
RAS# to CAS# Delay 3
Precharge Delay 8
Burst Leght 8
* also since i alredy know the frequecy(mhz) of my memory should i just adjust it in my bios, because right now its set on "AUTO".
MY Rig
Intel P4/Presscot 3.0ghzE, 1mb of L2 cache, 800mhz FSB
120gb Maxtor SATA
1 gb of Dual Channel, ddr 400/pc3200
MSI 865PE NEO-2 PFISR (AGP 8x)
BGF 6800 OC (with the extar 4 pipes and vertex shader unlocked)
