Sorry if this question is too basic. I haven't kept track of technology related to P4 for a long time. I'm still using P3 and they work fine so no need to upgrade. I just want to know how the memory speed is matched up with CPUs. I see most P4 CPU support 800Mhz FSB and people use PC3200 at 400Mhz to match up with it but how do you come up with the CPU's speed because I see people change certain # to overclock their CPUs. If someone can give me a quick explanation of this or a turorial link, that would be great. Also, what' difference with DDR2? It just double the speed by letting you run in dual-channel mode?
Oh, with P3, I remember I can overclock by changing the multiplier in my Abit BIOS setup. If I use PC133, the BIOS will pickup default multiplier and list a couple more for me to choose. Rated CPU speed = 133 x multiplier. How do people over clock their P4 nowadays?
