Memory Question

Allright...not EXACTLY rocket science, but here goes:

I have an HP 8580C PIII 500Mhz, about 3 years old. I'm looking at some 512Mb RAM. Will my computer even recognize that size of a chip???

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.

It should - have you tried looking @ the HP website and finding out some information on your motherboard? Your motherboard will be the determining factor when it comes ot how much memory you can put in your system 🙂

I believe that mobo has 3 slots and can read a maximum of 784mb of ram so I would venture a guess it can only read 256mb modules...512mb modules I don't think it will recognize...call Hp service and ask, they should answer that for you...
