Memory Question

I personally do not understand the differences between all the different types of RAM nowadays. Can someone please explain to me what this means?

Supports ECC type DIMM module (72bits)

Does this mean that the mobo supports only sdram or does it support other types like ddr and what not?

Specifically which motherboard are you referring to?

Standard SDRAM uses different slots to DDR SDRAM.

ECC RAM is available for both standard SDR SDRAM and DDR SDRAM.

I usually do not recommend people buy ECC RAM though, unless you really need it.

ok i guess what i was really interested in is what does ECC stand for? upon looking at the specs of my mobo it can only take sdram
