Memory question.

If you want to run the memory at 667 or 800, I would recommend going with memory that is actually rated at those speeds. Just because memory overclocks for someone, doesn't mean it will do the same for you. Play it safe and go with officially rated DDR2-667 or 800 memory.
 
Well I had another question. In terms of gaming, how much of a difference will I see between 667 and 800?
 
Sorry for the late response. That question will depend on the video card you get. If you get a mid or low end card, you won't really notice a difference since most games will be limited by the lower end GPU. If you get a higher end card, then you will probably want to get the DDR800 ram.

For general usage the DDR800 will be better overall, and I don't think there is a huge price difference between the 667 and 800, so I would just go for DDR800. There won't be an enormouse difference in performance, but I think its worth paying a marginally higher price.

Honestly I think you will be happy either way 🙂
 
Bollocks. The performance difference between 533, 667 and 800 if you're not overclocking is only a few percent. It's not worth buying 667 over 533 for a non overclocked system, let alone blowing your wad on 800.
