hey all,

i would like to jump on this deal:

http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant...uct_Code=140263&Category_Code=DDR2-PDP

but the thing is, i have a dell 4600 (2.66 ghz, 533 fsb, 2 opticals, 2 hds, ati x800 PE) with already 1 gig of RAM (512x2). my question is: how do i find out all this info about what kind of ram i got and if this new RAM i put in there will be compatible?

also, is it a waste of money if i know that this patriot RAM will only run at max 333 on my computer? my thinking is that i can use the RAM later for a new computer.

any comment is appreciated, thanks...

The common 4 sticks run in DDR333 problem is an AMD issue, and has nothing to do with DRR2/Intel. Intel's RAM situation is slow no matter which way you look at it.
