Memory Question

If I have an AMD 64 3200+ and I now have pc3200 memory will I get an appreciable performance increase if I get some pc4000 memory? I used to know how memory works when I was bargain hunting last year but I forgot. Thanks for any help.

only if you overclock, pc4000 runs at 500, or 250FSB while pc3200 runs natively at 400 or 200FSB. Your processor defaults at a 200FSB so the only way you'll get a noticeable difference is overclocking. it also depends alot on the brand/ chips on your memory so you can run tighter timings. What memory do you have now? what are you looking to get?

Hmm, I have Micron memory and I was looking at getting some Ballistix pc4000. I didn't want to overclock though...
