I have 2 Chips

256 pc 133
256 pc 100

My question is can I use both chips in the same PC being 2 different speeds.

I know that it will probably run at pc100 but that will be ok with me...

What is the wire configs for the front USB ports

Also trying to figure out what kind of onboard sound is on this board..

Thanks for any help :)

There's no harm in trying it. If they don't get recognized at proper capacity, probably one or both of them are high-density stuff that your mobo doesn't know how to handle properly.

OK I installed it, And as I guessed its running 512 at 100 MHZ, I kinna figured it would step down to the slowest chip.. But Ive noticed a little better performance since I did that.. Windows seems to load a bit faster now..

Thanks for the help. I just bought this AMD system and it came in today..

Only thing lef to do now is find where all the leads go to the USB ports in the front of the PC, When I got the PC all the cables were pulled from the board.. I have the PC running except for the USB ports in the front.. Trying to locate where they go..

I might be able to help on the USB thing. What brand and model of motherboard is it, and what type of case?

Here is the wire configs...

2 sets of 4 wires...

1 ground black wire
1+D Blue wire
1-D White wire
1+5V Red wire

2 Ground black wire
2+D Blue wire
2-D white wire
2+5V red wire

Here is what the pins look like on the board...

USB 3 :::: USB 2 ::::

Im looking at the board but cant see any info on it, Its using a AMD 1050 processor.. There is a Green metalic chip that says SPACEWALKER on it.

Im also trying to figure the onboard sound, for some reason I cant find a chip on the board identifying it..

Spacewalker is another name that Shuttle uses, the guys who also do the cute small-form-factor cubes. They often used names like HOT-661/V and such, do you see any markings similar to that?

I found the sound chip it is the VT8233, Is this just a cheapie on board.. I have a
creative SB live value sound card would that be better than the onboard VT8233

Ok, that's good. Shuttle AK32 rev. 2.1. Lemme see if I have the manual for that... not yet I don't.

AK32 downloads page including audio drivers among other things.

Ok, here's a screenshot from the manual that shows the pinout.

1) separate the case's wiring so you've got the #1's segregated from the #2's

2) on the top row of a header, grab your case's #1 group. Leave the leftmost pin (#9) vacant. On 7, 5, 3 and 1, put on the case's 1Ground, 1Data+, 1Data-, and 1+5volt.

3) on the bottom row of the header, grab your case's #2 group. On 10, 8, 6, and 4, plug in your 2+5volt, 2Data-, 2Data+, and 2Ground.

That should do it :) but test with something expendable like a cheap USB mouse.
