Memory question

sure they are okay.. usually you worry about the speed of the ram, not the size though. But i believe that larger sticks generally are harder to overclock.. also two sticks is harder to overclock than one stick - but really it doesn;t make much of a difference

Memory capacity has nothing to do with O/C (at least when using 2 sticks of 256 or 512. With sticks of 1giga it's another thing).
The only thing is : you will feel more at ease with 2x512 (especially for games such as far cry)

yes they are okay.
But I believe the more Ram you use to overclock to a certain FSB, then you will need more VDimm to acheive stability.

If you are running dual channel, then go with 2X512. 512Mb (2X256) is barely enough these days with all the memory intensive programs and OS. You will get about the same O/C with good ram on both pairs.

Seems as a rule, I think, that the more memory you have, then your memory latencies might need a bit of loosening.

But not much . . . maybe a unit increase in the precharge-delay.

what programs do you use? I never really even needed 512 mb of ram.. i just got 1 gig since it was $30 each and i wanted dual channel
