I have an older emachines T2885 and was wondering if I could use any 184 pin memory or did I have to stick with PC 2700 for an upgrade? PC 3200 is actually cheaper but will it work the same?

PC 3200 would probably work, but most likely it will only run at 2700 speeds. DDR is more expensive than DDR2,so if you're planning on getting a new system sometime soon, you could consider waiting and spending the same money on a couple of gigs of DDR2.

Indeed.

You could more than likely use PC3200 instead; it should just downclock to the speed of the existing RAM.

It is possible for there to be incompatibilities, but that's very rare fortunately.

Welcome to the forums, both of you :)
