I set up an Abit KR7A raid system last weekend using an Athlon XP 2000 and 2 sticks of Micron PC2100 DDR memory. The system as been rock solid stability wise. When I run Sandra it reports 3 banks of 256 memory. Is this normal or or an issue with Sandra? Or is it just something I don't understand about DDR memory since this is my first board that uses it?

On my system, 1 DIMM = 2 banks. For example, I have 2x256mb PC2100 sticks in dimm slots 1 & 2. During boot, it shows that banks 1-4 are in use. This might be what is happening to you. Hope this helps.

what version of sandra are you using...it may not be fully compatable with version you are using..and thus reporting incorrect memory settings

I am using version 2001.5.8.11 of Sandra. I have the memory in DIMM1 and DIMM2. In Sandra it shows like this:

Bank 0/1 - A0 DIMM 256MB
Bank 2/3 - A1 DIMM 256MB
Bank 4/5 - A2 DIMM 256MB
Bank 6/7 - A3 Empty

I'll have to check and see what it says on boot.
