Thanks to everyone for helping me in my first thread! I have everything in my Checkout basket in Newegg, but one last question...

for THIS motherboard (ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Socket 939 ULi M1695 ATX AMD), do I need to have pc3200 memory? Or is it okay if i stick with the pc2700 from my old system??

Hi VedderSkinZ and Welcome to the Forums!

If it was in my budget, I'd prolly go 2 x 1gig PC3200 sticks. No need for expensive stuff as the socket 939's don't need zippy fast ram to perform well (due to onboard mem controller).

Also, can run with PC2700 using a mem divider if need be. This THREAD has benchies which indicate not much performance loss from doing so.

Hey Fern! Thanks!

I just made my purchase and I decided to go with 2x 512 pc3200 Ram. I will upgrade more in the future, Im still kinda limited though.

I also bought a nice case, the Venice 3200+ and the motherboard I listed here. I already have a dvd drive, cdrw, Audigy 2, 80gb WD 8mb cache HD, and a 6800gt...

So I think I am all set. I will keep my old ram and build an old system from my athlon 2000+ and nforce 2 mobo...
