Hi guys, I've recently bought a P4P800 deluxe with a P4 2.8 processor and Kingston KVR400X64C3AK2/512 512MB Kit (2x 256MB) DDR400 PC3200 CL3 ram from newegg.com. From all the detail on the ram, you can all probably guess i have a memory problem. The thing with my system is that it likes to restart a lot. I've tried many things, manually changing the memory timings in the bios, updating the bios to 1.008, swapping modules, and the only result that I came up with is that it works with 1 module at a time, but dual channel screws it up royally. I've ran memtest86 on this about 10 times, and once it came out with errors on tests 5 and 8, but ever other time it has come clean with at least 5 passes. If anyone else has the same memory with their P4P800 please tell me how you set it up so that it's stable. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
by the way, i'm also using an Antec 400W case so I don't think power is a problem here, also using a WD 80 gig 7200 RPM master HD and a WD 100 gig 7200 RPM as slave. And a Geforce 2 (gonna upgrade that once I get my system stable)
So, basically if you are running a P4P800 deluxe with a P4 2.8, please tell me what kind of ram you are using and what bios configuration you have it in
