Memory problems on MSI K7N2-L

Here's the situation: Ever since I first powered on the board, I've been using 2 Crucial 128mb PC2100 DIMMs in slots 1 and 3 on my K7N2-L board. This works fine, but 256 MB is a bit constraining, so I want to add a Samsung 512mb PC2100 stick to the mix. The board is uncooperative.

First, I moved the 128MB DIMM in slot 1 to slot 2 and put the 512MB DIMM in slot 1. The board only detected 256 MB.
Second, I took out the DIMM in slot 3, leaving just the 512MB stick in 1 and the 128MB stick in 2. The board then would not post.
Finally, I tried it with just the 512MB DIMM in each slot, no post each time.

What gives? I know this motherboard (and this chipset) is picky about RAM, but this is rediculous.

The easiest way is to go to a local computer store and ask them if they could test the RAM in a different board to see if it is detected. It might cost you $10-15, but that is the easiest way.

Local as in a mom/pop or repair store (not the big chains like Best Buy, Circuit City, CrapUSA (well CrapUSA..err..CompUSA can do this, I would never go to them for computer repairs/testing especially after my experience with them)...). Like I said the best places would be a small local computer store.
