my ASUS P4P800 SE will only run my pqi 3200 ram at 333 mhz and no higher. can anyone tell me what i can do to fix this

in dire need of assistance

try either:

a) flashing the bios to the latest version (if you havent already)

b) buy different ram to run at 400 mhz

What cpu do you have? If you don't have an 800mhz FSB proccessor, the chipset limits you to 166mhz(ddr333).

Really?!
i have a p4 2.4a but i was able to get 400 on my ASrock mobo, but not on the asus.

so you said that 166 mhz is ddr333, so what if its running at 333 mhz? thats what im at.
as you can see my knowlege on this subject matter is limited, and im pretty confused

a 2.4a is a 400mhz FSB cpu, but the motherboard can still run the memory asynchronusly at DDR333(166mhz)
the P4 FSB is quad pumped, so a 400mhz FSB, is really a 100mhz FSB quad pumped
DDR is double data rate, so 333mhz DDR is really running on a 166mhz FSB
It's odd that you were able to actualy run the DDR at 400mhz on your asrock motherboard. I haven't seen any motherboards with the 865/875 chipset that would run ddr at 400mhz, unless the FSB was at 200Mhz(800mhz effective P4 quad pumped)
