Memory problem - 1 stick of 512mb vs. 2

Hello... I have a MSI motherboard with NF2 Ultra chip set. I have 2 sticks of Mushkin PC3200 512mb memory (matched). If I populate two slots Half-Life 2, Far Cry, etc crash to the desktop. It doesn't matter if I use single our double channel. I have tried swapping the memory to different slots with the same results.

Windows XP Pro runs fine with both sticks installed. It's only when trying to play these games that I have this problem.

Do you think this memory has a problem with the MSI, NF2 or some other issue. I will probably just buy a 1gb stick and run with that, but really would like to run dual channel...

Try running MEMTEST on the system. Do it for at least a few hours (preferably longer) with one stick at a time in each memory slot, then do it with both sticks in single channel, and both sticks in dual channel.
