I have a dell Demension 2100, 933Mhz pocessor and I have recently bought a PNY pc133 memory card. My computer recognizes that I have installed memory in the bios but it only recognises 32 MB then once the computer starts booting into winodws the whole computer freezes and comes up with a big blue screen error saying that it cannot start up windows .what do I do?!?!:(

How much memory do you have now, if you add the old and the new? What's the capacity of your new module? It appears from Crucial's memory configurator that you've got a system with the i810E or i815-family chipset, which maxes out at 256Mb modules and a ceiling of 512Mb total, so I wonder if you're exceeding one or both of those criteria.

edit: you could also have memory whose chips are too high in density.

I have 128mb of old memory and 256mb of new memory so total I have 384mb of memory. When I use just the 128 it works. When I use just the 256mb it doesn't even boot.

if that is the case does that mean I'm screwed?

on both cards the chips are all on one side yesto

Hmm, then I'm thinking it's the density of the chips on your module is too high. Here are some modules guaranteed to work in a Dimension 2100: Crucial

Could you have a look at your motherboard... aha, never mind, here are the specs, you would have the i810E chipset since you have a 133MHz-based CPU. Return your PC133 and pick up some PC100 if your store has it. The i810E runs the memory at 100MHz all the time anyway, and PC100 memory is usually not such high-density stuff that it presents a problem, whereas some PC133 does.
