Memory Not Working In Slot

I recently bought http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16820231098.


Both sticks work fine in my second slot, tested both, and it reads as 1gig. But when I put both in, it only reads the one in the second slot. So I put just one in the first slot, not in other, and I get the beeping noise, and computer doesnt start. However when I use my old ram, it works and it reads it. Any suggestions?

How do you mean second slot?

and have you run memtest while testing both in the second slot?

I tested both in the second slot, seperately, and they both worked and it read them. I also tried them both in the first slot, and neither worked. So I dont think it's the RAM, but my old sticks worked in both slots, and it booted up with a single stick in the first slot. So I am sort of clueless.
