Well, the sweet pair, Micron and Hynix, continues setting the tune in the high life of the memory industry. But if one year ago everyone was waiting for one company to buy the other, today we face quite different issues. They seem to have learned the lesson titled: "Don't start negotiations about a sale if you are not sure in their favorable result". When negotiating, Micron saw into Hynix' state of affairs, but, contrary to its initial intention, decided not to buy it. And now Micron wants to get to its main competitor from another side. In the beginning of November it requested from the US Department of Commerce and the International Trade Commission to consider introducing countervailing duties against Samsung and Hynix.
