Memory kit recommends 2.2v, motherboard only supports 1.8v.

I'm using this RAM:

But I can't change the voltage of the RAM slots. Is it OK to use it at 1.8v? First boot-up, I had a BSOD seconds after getting into Windows. Since then, it's been running OK, but the "Welcome" screen for Windows is riddled with artifacts which were never there before I installed this RAM.

The timings in BIOS are 5-4-4-11.

Edit: The artifacts go away as soon as I get to the desktop, they're only present at the Welcome screen.

If you don't have the ability to tweak RAM voltage on your board, then I would take the RAM back and get proper 1.8v compliant sticks.

Either run it at 1.8V with 5-5-5 timings or return it and get RAM that is rated to only run at 1.8V

Unfortunately, the Patriot RAM is non-refundable, so I'll probably just sell it in FS/FT.

Almost all RAM that is rated at faster then 5-5-5 timing is already overclocked. That's why those 4-4-4 sticks are supposed to be run at 2.0V. You are essentially Oc'ing the RAM from 1.8V to 2.0V to get faster timings. IF you want to keep the patriot RAM, manually set the timings to 5-5-5, and run it at 1.8V. You should be fine. Get memtest and run it a while to make sure, but you should be good.

Timing means almost nothing these days.
