I have 2 of these kits for 8gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820227280

I have set the timings and voltages manually so their not on auto to the ocz spec. I have even tried upping the NB voltage to 1.4v. I have a 780i evga board latest bios. It will not post correctly it keeps putting it into safe mode and setting the ram to 800mhz instead of 1000mhz. If I put in 800mhz ram it posts and boots fine. Is there something I am missing here?

Try upping the NB voltage to >1.5V, but add a fan for extra cooling.

You might be "stuck" with the 800MHz though - some chipsets just don't like certain memory...

I am running my 6GB at 667MHz, 1:1 with the FSB, and it is perfectly stable. The performance difference between 667 - 800 - 1000 is minimal, and I would rather have perfect stability than 2 - 3% more overall speed.

Good luck!

Edit: And test it thoroughly with Memtest at all speeds.

I wasnt sure if it was a good idea to up the NB voltage that high but I can try it. I think I might just go back to the 800 ram. I mean my thing is quantity and not as much with quality and by that I just mean I rather have 8gb of 800 ram then unstable 1000 ram just like you said.

i will try that thank you. I set the voltage to 2.1 or 2.15 which is what it is rated for but do you think that could have played a part in it?

Yes, set the voltage to the 2.1V - 2.2V for RAM, and all the timings and frequency manually, using 2T command rate.
