memory identification question (help needed)

AkumaX

i have buffalo pc3200 cas 2.5

using aida32, when i click on motherboard->SPD, nothing shows up. (usually this screen will tell me what type of memory i have, including serial #)

using sandra, my memory says its pc2700 (up to 2.5) 166mhz, (up to 2.0) 133mhz. last time i had pc3200 memory it would SAY it would be pc3200 (up to 2.5) 200mhz, (up to 2.5) 166mhz, (up to 2.0) 133mhz. so now i am in question of if i have real pc3200 buffalo or not. anyone else have any memory identification programs?

1) Try CPU-z to check your SPD settings.

2) This SPD ID problem isn't too uncommon, especially with PC3200 RAM. It just depends on how the memory manufacturer has programmed the SPD settings.

3) It doesn't really matter anyway as you can always set the SPD manually.

You don't "set the SPD" you set the timings.

*EDIT* SPD = Serial Presence Detect... the manufacturer usually programs in the values for the RAM that it guarantees the RAM to run at.
