I've currently got 1G (2X512mb) of Corsair XMS 3200XL TCCD 2-2-2-5 ram for my P4 3.2 G Prescott skt 478.

Any problems with picking up another 2X512mb of Crucial Ballistix 2-2-2-6 for 90$?

Mobo is an Asus P4P800 E (intel 865pe chipset)

Its too close to call. Your XMS is definitely higher priced RAM ($150, eBay) and the Ballistix a good buy at $90. If your needs aren't critical, I don't see too much of a problem to run together. They're close in latency, only time will tell.

Ya, considering I paid $270 for the corsair ~2years ago $90 sounds pretty good.

Also, the 4x512 configuration requires 2T command rate but the hit is negligible. I went with a 4x512 configuration with Crucial Ballistix. The timings are nice and tight. The only suggestion I would have Paratus is to ask your mobo manufacture if there are any issues with a 4x512 configuration.

I know thats required for AMD systems but I'm not sure it's required for Intel systems.

Anyone know for certain?
