I posted something like this over in the Motherboard area as I was/am almost certain its my motherboard causing the issues.
I overclock - try to keep it to fairly "ok" speeds but like to mess with my memory (well used to I'm spending more time actually gaming now)
and I've been resigned to running my memory at as close to mfg specs as possible - I like to run Ballistix DDR2-667 at CAS3 - I use the 2.259 voltage setting on my mobo
I've now had 2 kits of this stuff go bad on me - was fine -I did overclock it for periods of time but always came out memtest clean (before/during/after)
now it seems instead of this getting burnt during an OC session it gets fried when running at "normal" levels.
I keep 2 fans on my memory so I don't think temps are an issue - i'm back down to using 1 gig of my trusting D9 Micron ECC memory
I have 1 new kit on the way from Crucial but I wanna know whats causing this - I'm prepared to get me a DMM but don't know where to start with testing.
Most of my hardware is in my sig below - I have a Ultra X-finity 500w PSU to swap out with the Zalman for testing that (also have the 600w X-finity but I think the 500 is higher quality)
please help me stop my memory from dying on me
