Memory from new 20" iMac to Older 15" FW 800 Powerbook?

So I have a Samsung, 512 module in my Powerbook G4 now. My roomie bought 2x2 gb sticks for his iMac, and he was going to sell him his 1 1xgb sticks. They're both DDR Sodimms so I figured this would work.

Now, I haven't actually screwed in the memory cover, so maybe that's it, but it's not booting (I'm getting three weird beeps and the front LED is flashing.)

The old memory says: Samsung 512mb, 2Rx16 PC2-4200s - 444 - 12 - A3

The new memory says: 1 GB 2Rx16 PC2-6400-666-12-A0 (1 GB, DDR2, 800, CL6)

This should work, right? Is there any way to make it work? I'd love to breath new life into this machine.

Thanks!

Edit: I was getting three beeps with one 1 gb stick, one beep with 2 2gb sticks, and it seems to be working with one 1gb stick and my old 512 stick. Huh? Any ideas?

Further edit: It's "working" but still only recognizes 512 of ram. Boo.

I'm not completely familiar with the Powerbooks, but I thought that they weren't as compatible with memory as the iMacs, and Intel Macs (in general).
