I'm configuring a new server for work with a Xeon Bronze 3104 CPU. Vendor is telling me that running 4 sticks of RAM isn't ideal for that CPU that it should be 6 sticks since with those CPUs you get 6 channels for memory.
Is running 4 sticks really that difference in performance? I wanted 8x8GB, instead now I'm being quoted 6x16GB to get my 64GB (or in this case more) RAM.
