Memory for upcoming penryn?

Hiya guys, planning a penryn rig for Jan and wanted to know if DDR3 memory is the best bet for it or will DDR2 still be the best option? Have Crucial Ballastix Tracer DDR2 8500.
 
IMO the cost of DDR3 modules that run at speeds that make it sensible to choose it over DDR2 is just way too high right now.
 
Yes, DDR3 will come down as the ICs become cheaper which they already have.

Penyrn seems to like bandwidth more than Conroe so you will see memory making a bigger difference ala AMD platforms.
