i know in general it is better to have higher Speed and lower CAS, 3000 CAS 15 is a little bit faster than 3000 CAS 16.

My question is it better to have 2*8gb or 4*4gb?

Also what are brand are you using?

Thanks

I do not have DDR4 myself.

But I've become a GSkill fanboi over the years over Corsair.

Nothing wrong with it, I still have it in one system.

Depends on what you are doing maybe, I'd say 2 X 8.

More slots usually complicates things more.

2x8g is best
may perform a tad better if the 4g sticks are single sided
two sticks can be more stable when overclocking vs 4
leaves room to expand to 32g if you ever start doing work on the system that needs it

4 sticks is only a benefit on the 2011 platform which supports quad channel while skylake 1151 is dual channel
