Memory for P4P800DLX

I had bad luck with Corsair TWINX512-3700 and returned it to vendor. Setting was at 3-4-4-8 as recommended but WinXP was not stable and applications shut itself down numerous times. Thought that Corsair is good brand. I am not into overclocking so what is the best memory out there for this board that can run at CAS2 and default stock speed. I am not looking at Kingston HyperX 3500 modules. Thanks.

What voltage did you try it at, Obelix? If you run into trouble again, try bumping the voltage a little if you didn't already. 2.7 to 2.8 volts is ok for Corsair.

Oh, and CAS2 is the forbidden fruit for some folks. The board doesn't like it, the board doesn't plan on doing it, and they just can't accept that their Precious isn't going to do 2-2-2-5, period. I say crank it back to 2.5-3-3-8 @ 2.7V, fire up some UT2003 and have fun, instead of battling for hours to get a 2% performance boost 😀

Hi. I set the voltage to 2.75volt as recommended by RAM GUY, the person who administers the forum at Corsair website. It did not help. I ran memtest86 v3 and it reported hundred of error failures at various addresses within the first few minutes. I sent it back to the vendor this morning. The strange thing is I then put my 2 512MB Samsung PC2700 modules from my 2nd computer and it's been working fine. Memtest ran for over 8 hours w/o a single error. Thanks.

I heard some folks saying to disable the HyperPath or else leave it on Auto, too. Was yours enabled, disabled, or Auto, if you remember? I'm sorry to hear your system wasn't running well, better luck with your next modules 🙁
