Memory for Intel D975XBX

Hi,

I've been reading these forums for a couple of days, and still cannot confirm if this motherboard Intel D975XBX will work with DDR2-800 out of the box?

I want to buy 1GB of Corsair XMS2 Memory but I'm not sure if this will work, and also what is the difference Between the DDR2-800 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145539 and DDR2-667 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145539 ? What would I gain using the DDR2-800?

One More question, do you think is possible to get 3ghz using a E6600 and this motherboard? I ask this because later on, after I learn something about overclocking, I would like to try it, maybe after the warranty expires 🙂 !!!!

Thank you For Reading.

Leo.

Hello again,

I was just wondering if nobody is using this combo, Intel D975XBX motherboard "Bad Axe", and Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 Memory?

If you are using it, please tell me, so I could buy it, without problems!!! or is just safe to buy the DDR2-667 Memory?

Thank you.

Leo 🙂

I'm using the D975XBX with OCZ ddr2 800. It boots at 533, and to get it stable to 800 at 5-5-5-12, I had to boost voltage to 2.1v, but it's all standard.
