Memory for Asus P8P67 Deluxe & i7-2600k

Need recommendation for 8 gb of memory for the above. I will OC the cpu but not the memory. I want fast but stable with no issues in setup. This is the FPS gaming machine in the house for son and me.

Many components from below rig going into the new one. Would like to use the same case, but may need a larger one. My 5870 barely fit...had to push out the HD cage about a 1/2-1".

Thx for any ideas.

I would say that the memory specified in the Asus manual for that mobo would be a good start. That's a pretty zippy mobo. I'm lusting for one. 🙂

I'm using 2 sticks of those 4GB corsair vengeance series ram. similiar setup as you, but with the Pro instead of deluxe.

DDR3 dual channel rated at 1.5v and at least, but not necessary better than 1333MHz data rate. Simple.

Corsair Vengeance seems to be the stuff to get. There are others that are more than acceptable. I'd go with DDR3-1600 though. Price is right.

Another + for Corsair Vengeance. No problems whatsoever with memory on my board. Now if the Egg gets the Pros in this week I will be set.

Have you considered Crucial..? Check out Crucial.com, it allows you to select your mother board then gives a full listing of all compatible memory. They just came out with some 4Gb sticks that I am planning on using with the same board you have there.

Thx for the replies.

Considering that this rig is for FPS gaming, would you folks buy now, rather than wait to see what Ivy Bridge is like in the Fall?
