My aunt had a P4 based Gateway on which the MoBo fried. So I'm like, cool, free parts. And I research MoBos for a Socket 423 P4 processor and find what I think is a good deal on eBay. Come to find out it takes RAMBUS. Now this was going to be a WinXP Home system mostly for Folding and maybe light use, or even give to someone who doesn't otherwise have a computer.
So I am thinking with the high price of RAMBUS to just put some Linux on there and get like the minimum needed (2x64).
What do you suggest? Should I go with 800MHz or save a few bucks and go with 600?
