I'm building a system next week. I have the CPU and board, but I need a recommendation on Memory. Any thoughts? There are too many choices out there. I just want somethign fast that I can OC a bit. I'm looking for about 1GB...not sure 1 stick or two.

now sure about Graphics card either. I might just get the new Nvidia 7700 or whatever it's called. I don't have a PCI-E card, just AGP.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

Are you really going for 4 x 256 or is that just bait to get someone to comment? ;) I think you'd be better off with 2 x 512MB or 2 x 1024MB so you have 1GB or 2GB of RAM to start with, and an upgrade path for when that's not enough anymore.

On Asus's Qualified Vendor List for memory modules for the A8N's, Kingston's KVR400x64C3A/512 and KVR400x64C3A/1G modules are on the list for one-module, two-module and four-module operation. So that ought to be one of the safest picks. Using just two to start with will leave you the option of adding another pair later.

If you still want the Ballistix or the Corsair C2, at least get 2 x 512MB so you have a couple free slots for upgrading to 2GB later.
