Hey all. I ordered a 512MB of Mushkins PC2100 "special" ram (that is supposed to be rated at 2-2-2) last week and it came with Nanya chips, as I expected. Turns out the stick was DOA. Mushkin's cust. service is excellent and they overnighted my a new stick. However, this stick has module that say "V-Data" on them. I called and asked if this was possible the "value ram" they sell, but the woman I spoke to said that it's not. Any of you know anything about these chips? Does anyone have the value ram and know what chips they are? I'm out of town on business and won't even be able to test it until Friday evening, but just wanted to know if any of you had any knowledge of this type of ram. I've never heard of it. Thanks in advance.

I bought several sticks of the same ram, just different size. Some had v-data, some had nanya. I ran benchmarks on individual dimm's and found no major performance difference between the two.
