I put 2 new 128MB 60ns EDO SIMMs into an old 333MHz AMD K6-2 system. When I do a cold boot of the computer, the AMI BIOS runs through the memory and stops near the middle of the 256MB and does a long beep followed by 3 short beeps. The OS only sees the amount of memory up to the point of the beeps.
Is there anything I can change in the BIOS that would help the new memory work better? It has settings for the EDO DRAM Access Time(60ns or 70ns) and the Refresh Cycle Time(0, 4, 8, or 12).
Any ideas why this new memory would be having a problem?
