Memory errors on a laptop

laptop keeps giving me memory errors in memtest with 3 different sticks of ram and a second motherboard...could the processor cause memory errors? Errors always occur during the 'Random number sequence' section of Memtest.

Laptop is a Sony Vaio running an Athlon M @ 1300 mhz. I have also tested with most if not all peripherals unplugged or removed.

How long into the test does it take for the laptop to bomb out? It definitely can be the processor if the processor is getting really hot during testing.

Try using a house fan to blow directly onto the laptop to see if it bombs out then.

Can you give OCCT a shot? If the computer crashes while running, it displays a bunch of graphs showing voltages and temperatures that might help pinpoint the problem.

It is a very stressful test though. Text

I personally run OCCT after every build to ensure my system is stable (usually for 24 hours.)

low and behold, I actually found an extra mobile athlon lying around and it seems to work fine now...still testing though.
