Memory error asus a7n8x kingston hyperX

First the specs:
Asus a7n8x deluxe rev 1.4
xp 1700+ @ 2312mhz (12.5x185) (Tested THOROUGHLY for days using prime95)
1GB (2x512) Kingston Hyperx PC3000 (running 2-3-2-6 @184)
ati radeon aiw 9800 pro
antec lanboy case w/ 350w antec psu

The problem:
Okay, so I installed windows XP and was using it for about 12 hours total. I restarted and tried changing my settings to 2-2-2-6 (the speed the ram is rated at from everywhere that sells it including kingston) and upping the dimm voltage to 2.7 from 2.6. At this point, I boot into windows, use it for about 20 minutes, and do a windows update. After that, I restart, and 2 minutes into using windows, I get a blue screen that says "physical memory error, if this is the first time you've seen this error, restart. If this persists, contact your system administrator for further instructions."
so I restart, change memory settings back to 2-3-2-6, and the same thing happens 3 minutes into windows. So I restart, when I hit the power on switch, 2 seconds later it says "system failed memory test"

Any known solutions or things I could do in this situation? the ram has winbond bh-5 chips and everywhere that sells it rates it 185FSB 2-2-2-6 (tho many people have been able to go above 200 @ 2-2-2-5.)
Thanks in advance, all help is appreciated.

Upping voltage can definitely make memory unstable. Most kingston is rated 2.6v tryin to run it at those timings at that volt wouldn't surprise me. Not sayin it can't do it just seen more that don't than do. My experience w/ kingston lately is that their "advertised timings" don't run well. Going to spd w/ regular voltage then running memt86 w/ test on All is the best way to check things out(IMO). Good Luck.

I have heard the the HyperX can be a little quirky...just use stock timings...until you get some Corsair XMS. Heh heh.
