Memory Error after doing random things?

0x000000 explorer.exe fault after doing things like sending email, closing programs, totally unrelated things.

is this bad RAM? or a software issue?

i would think if it was FxF012009 or some garbage memory address that it would be a software error, but since it is right at the beginning, I am confused.

If you know anything about this I would appreciate it

if you have multiple sticks of RAM in your machine, try removing 1 & see if you still have the problem. you might also try a different slot, in case that turns out to be the problem. my guess is that it's hardware.
