Is it true that there are motherboards that let you use two sticks of memory for greater bandwidth? I'm unfamiliar with this topic, but my understanding is that some motherboards could have the following sort of spec:

FSB 800MHz (P4)
Dual-memory allowed (or something like that)

Do any have recommendations for a board like this? I prefer ASUS and don't really need extras like RAID, onboard video (though onboard sound might be ok), SATA. Onboard LAN is good. Maybe you could just tell me what chipset allows that configuration and I'll look for myself. Thanks.

The Asus P4P800 and P4C800-E are two good motherboards both support dual channel. In order to run dual channel, you need two identical sticks of ram. With the P4C processors, you would need PC3200/DDR400 ram if you are not going to overclock and better if you will do heavy overclocking.

I don't need any overclocking features, I was going to build something as a gift for someone who is into processing video and audio (making movies and such). I looked at the board you suggested and it sure looks nice, however, it seems the ABIT IC7-G is quite comparable for about 40$ cheaper (I remember I said I prefer ASUS). So far, I've got the following configuration with this board

P4 2.6GHz 800FSB
2x256MB DDR400 (maybe 512 each instead?)
2x80GB SATA (RAID 0)

If you have any suggestions they are welcome.
