Memory.dmp file in WinXP

I was wondering why the free space on my C: drive just became alot less. I checked and found a 1Gig Memory.dmp file. That's probably not the real reason of the missing space, but it's something I'm curious about.

I was reading up that it is a debug file that is probably not much use to me unless I wanted to parse it out and read it or send it to someone else. If I just delete it, and a new error happened it should create a new file.

Any idea why it would be so large? The last update of the file was May 14th so nothing has happened recently.
