Memory + CPU settings on motherboard

Just upgraded to a new mobo+cpu+memory and am having trouble getting the thing running at full capacity.

System specs:

Thermaltake Purepower 420W (12v @ 18A)
ASRock 775-VSTA
Intel E6400
2GB DDR2-667 5-5-5-15-2T timing
7800GT
1 SATA Hitachi Deskstar 80gb hdd
1 IDE Segate 160gb hdd
2 - DVD burners

During post the processor is listed as running at 1.44ghz. Was looking around in the BIOS and everything is so confusing 😱 😕 🙁

I know the timing numbers of the memory, but don't know which options to change in the BIOS.

1.44Ghz - that's pretty odd. If the multiplier on it got dropped somehow it would be at either 1.86GHz or 1.6GHz - there should be something in the BIOS relating to the processor, or at least something about bus speed and all that. For your processor, that should be set at 266MHz, and the CPU multiplier should be 8. I'm not familiar with the ASRock BIOS so that's all the advice I can offer, I'm afraid.

Pull power from PSU. Hit the power switch on PC. Pull CMOS battery and put CMOS in clear position. Wait 1/2 hour. Re-install battery and jumper. Boot PC and check for proper detection of core speed using CPUz.
