Memory Controller Ref Voltage

Not sure about the exact nomenclature for these BIOS settings on my 680i mobo, but my paraphrases should leave no mistake about which BIOS settings they are.

While I look for more information about these settings -- and with no guarantee I'll find any -- I was wondering of someone had a succinct idea what they are and what they do.

An ASUS "Memory Tech-advice" paper for my mobo at the ASUS web-site recommends setting the Controller Ref voltage to "+10mV" to over-clock RAM. While trying to get perfect, perpetual stability at 3.2 Ghz and extremely tight RAM timings, setting it to +10mV seemed to buy me a 6th hour of stable running with the newest multi-core PRIME95 v 25.4.

All insights will be thoroughly appreciated . . . . . I'm going off to do my web-search now . . . . . I'll be back in a while . . . . . take your time if you want to enlighten me . . . .
