Just built a computer with an MSI K7N2G-L mobo with Athlon XP 2100+ processor and 512 MB of DDR333 PC2700 memory. When I look at my system information, I see:

Total physical memory: 512.00 MB
Available physical memory: 299.00 MB at the moment with only Internet Explorer and Sys. Info open

Can this be right??
Does the onboard video on my mobo have anything to do with is?

Thanks in advance.

i tink onboard vid always takes wahtever it needs (in MB) out of the system ram
so if its 64mb, you have 512-64=448MB total left for system use

do you have xp/2k or 9X?

the problem is the vid card can share up to 64mb of the ddr so it basically reserves it...then winxp can take up to 64mb for itself as well....winxp has the biggest draw against system resources then win98 or win2k...
