I am wondering if anyone has run tests to see what difference memory configuration makes to system performance. I've seen the reviews of NF2 vs. VIA, but how about same system, performance increases from say 128 to 1GB RAM; whether a single stick of 1 GB RAM is better than two 512s, what performance hit (or improvement) might come from filling 3 slots (typical number on most mobos these days)?
I'm guessing that for WinXP, performance increases level off at around 512MB RAM (certainly the case for Win98SE, lol). But are there programs (particularly in my interests: graphics, design, and games) that benefit from more, and in what configurations?
